The National Trusts Cotehele Estate, Cornwall

The National Trusts Cotehele Estate holds many areas of woodland, we are delighted to call this our home. We have access to several areas of woodland on the estate all of which are beautiful in their own way.

Our site is a deciduous woodland with species such as Ash, Oak, Beech and Birch present. The woodland gives you a good feeling of isolation and has stunning scenery surrounding it to take in. Comfort wood and the Cotehele estate are within the Tamar valleys Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; you will see this upon visiting.

Cotehele has many other activities and events going on, you could visit the Shamrock a Tamar sailing Barge, Walk around the historic house or enjoy the beautiful gardens. For more information follow the link to Cotehele on our links page.

Gulley Wood, Dunsford, Devon

Gulley Wood in Devon is set amongst vast acres of beautiful countryside and woodland. Located near Exeter it’s easily accessed from the A38 and is only a short drive away from Dartmoor National Park. Serious Outdoor Skills is proud to run its courses from this great location.

There is a wide variety of flora and fauna and it doesn’t take long to realize this. There are deer, badgers, foxes and dormice amongst the wildlife to keep a look out for along with a great range of wild plants and flowers scattered around this attractive deciduous woodland.

Within this vast area of land there are three ponds and a stream, there is a mixture of meadow and woodland to run our professional courses from. We think this diverse environment will benefit your learning and understanding of the great outdoors.

loch laggan , The Cairngorms Scotland

Loch laggan is a beautiful fresh water loch situated in the Cairngorm national park, Scotland. We are delighted to offer our Expedition and adventure courses in this stunning location

Surrounding the loch there are some well known mountains such as Creag Meagaidh which give you far fetching views of this amazing terrain.

The area is surrounded with great wildlife, if you are lucky enough to join us on our Autumn trips it is very likely you will hear the roar of the mighty Red Deer in the rutting season

Dartmoor , Devon

Dartmoor National Park is a vast moorland in the county of Devon, in southwest England. Dartmoor ponies roam its craggy landscape, defined by forests, rivers, wetlands and tors (rock formations). Trails wind through valleys with Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses. Dartmoor has a reputation for being one of the most difficult areas to navigate in, That's why we run all of our Navigation classes and events here

Kiruna Sweden

We are pleased to be running courses and events in Northern Sweden. This area is beautiful and is amongst true wilderness. The cabin we use in situated on the edge of a lake and is surrounded by forest. Its a hotspot for the northern lights and has fantastic wildlife in the region such as Moose, Bear, Wolves and reindeer.
